Join neighbors and invite friends of all ages on Saturday, October 27th to celebrate monarch butterfly migration season and Halloween at Sutton Place’s 54th Street Park. Costumes encouraged!
Starting at 10 am, the Conservancy will welcome any gardeners to help us clean up, clip, sweep, and put the garden to rest for winter. The Parks Department will furnish the necessary equipment, but feel free to bring your own gardening tools. You can also decorate the Armillary globe with seasonal items for a colorful fall display.
There will be coffee and munchies for gardeners; pizza, cider and ice-cream for children, courtesy of our wonderful sponsors.
At 12:30 the Cathedral High School Band will perform Halloween music to celebrate the season.
Also, at 12:30 children and dogs (on leash) will gather for a costume parade with prizes – scary, imaginative & fun – judged by the “Honorable” Kevin Frawley, VP and Manager of TD Bank at 56th & 1st Avenue. Children’s activities will include decorating pumpkins, butterfly tattoos and more.
